A Looming Specter
Senator Arlen Specter is an idiot. Sorry if that all sounds like some sort of an oxy-moron.....something that you may have heard before.
He is calling for a Senate investigation of Spygate, into whether or not the New England Patriots cheated for years (and years) by video-taping their opponents and then analyzing the information. Dude, they did.
And I am doubly sure that they are not alone in this practice, whether it be football, baseball, softball, basketball, tiddly winks, horse raciing, horse shoes, or even Formula 1 Grand Prix. It's called scouting. Been going on since when-ever film was invented. Really.
Now, don't get me wrong, New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick is a punk. But.
Does the senate not have something more pressing to do in this interesting 2008 day and age than to try and figure out if the Patriots cheated? They did. Would someone tell me why in the world that this is something that the Senate of the United States of America would waste their time over.
Please. Who gives a crap?

Yup, you're right Big Al.
Investigating steroids in pro sports is a waste of time. They have take them. They can't afford not to. It's their job to perform at the absolute top of their profession. Some of them have a better trainer (or can afford the best) and the trainer knows how to manipulate the numbers and chemicals so that the athelete can fly under the radar.
Think about it. Imagine playing a week-load of NBA games with the flu. Or a sprained ankle. Or maybe a sinus infection.....It happens, and that ain't all just heart.
Don't get me wrong, I love the guys with balls enough to say, "Fuck that man, I'm playing." But it's not the business of the Senate or Congress. Those guys are atheletes, and they came to play.
Specter is just pissed the Pats beat Philly in the Super Bowel a few years ago....... Besides what do you expect from the quality of people who are willing to seek office.........most of the qualified people won't run...
