Backside

Killer skate for Sunday Sunrise Services. The father son tag-team of Matt and Jake cooly down from Kentucky for Services in the shining silver '66 Fairlane GTA. Sweet. I'll try and get a picture next time of the ride. Here, Grippy backsides the spine to head off into the rising sun for some concrete bowl blindness at CWC.....

And then, a little special sauce over the hip.

Speaking of backsides, check out the next comic book heroine, Thong Girl . According to the comic book bin, "TG is Nashville, Tennessee's first authentic crime fighter."

Turning is Black & White

Monday, November 20, 2006

As usual, a motorcycle outright won the Baja 1000 mile race by over an hour from the fastest 4 wheeled vehicle. It is never reported as such though, the cars or trucks are always reported as the overall winners. This year it was the big deal that Robby Gordon won and that he was immediately on his way to the NASCAR ladies all-skate finale in where-ever-in hell they were racing this past week-end. You have to dig deep through the official results to find "Class 22", the motorcycles and their finishing order.

According to the Honda Red Riders racing portal it marks the 10th year in a row that Honda has taken top honors. Impressive.

Is it just me or is this the most absolute asinine headline of the week....... Polygamist Accused in Illegal Marriages . Well, fucking DUH!

And finally, and more importantly, on a more somber note.....the pitcherlady has this . There's not much else to add except Godspeed Steve.

Sign of the Week

Okay then.

I don't know how much the Almighty really knows or cares about motorcycle trials or ITSA or whether or not he rode a Triumph motorcycle in his younger days. All I can do is document what's presented to me as it goes down.

Two weeks from now is the 2nd Annual ITSA Championship Banquet and season ending trials. A two-day affair with the ITSA trials on day one along with the banquet afterwards closing out the 2006 season, and the ITSA trials on day two being the season opener for 2007.

Be there or be square.....oh yes.

Leafy Turn

Man, what a gorgeous day here in the middle Tennessee valley. Clear skies with bright sunshine and temps in the high seventies. Indian summer indeed.

All I know is that if you didn't get to have a motorbike ride today like I did, then I am truly sorry for ya'.......

The Superchicken Compromised

Jeez, it's a damn good thing that we were in Illinois last week-end because what I caught the Trialsrooster doing to the Superchicken was probably illegal in most states. Especially Alabama.

He obviously loves this motorcycle......

The Yankee Z 500

Back in the late 60's a motorcycle importer in New York state named John Taylor had a dream of producing the biggest and meanest dirt bike on the planet. It took a few years after the incecption of his idea for his dream to come to fruition.

Taylor worked with OSSA in Spain and the engine that Eduardo Giro came up with was a two-stroke twingle 500cc behemoth. It was essentially two 250cc OSSA jugs grafted onto a single crank and cases.

It utilised one of the first disc brakes seen on a dirt bike on the rear. The Smith and Wesson Company machined the triple clamps for the project.

From what I understand from the Guru who copped a few rides on a Yankee back in the day, it was a bit of a heavy and vague feeling machine, with a weight of over 325 pounds, but had decent power from the big twingled OSSA. Production of the Yankee Z 500 lasted from 1972 through 1974 with a total run of 760 units.
