Little Egypt

The Guru and his trusty TY250 Yamaha showing Nubbie's rock what for during practice on Saturday morning. I still don't have a pic of the ravine just to the right.....

The Guru rode good all week-end in Marion, Ill. and picked up two more AHRMA national wins to take over the points lead in Modern Classic Expert, we think. We say we think, because AHRMA will probably get around to posting the points for Little Egypt sometime in the next few weeks, probably about the time we go to Mid-Ohio.......so we're not really sure. On Saturday the Guru won with only 12 points dropped compared to 2nd places 41 points lost. And the 2nd place dude, we won't mention any names, (Keith), was not very happy about it. Even less so when the Guru did it again on Sunday. He didn't even tell us bye-bye. Huh.

Yours truly had a pretty good week-end, kept me finger out me butt most of the time, and had a good win on Saturday, a win I was as happy about as any over the past year or so. I follwed Saturday up by a couple of mistakes and a not so good third on Sunday. Ah well. We still had a hella good time.

Nubbie's Rock

It doesn't look like much just sitting there, but there lies Nubbie's Rock . A sharp and slick chunk of shale like slate. I took a leak on it for ya' Nubbie and told it you said Hi!

Meringue

There must be a thousand different ways to make banana pudding, but this here is the actual McCoy y'all. Made with real vanilla pudding made from scratch and fluffy meringue two inches thick. Yum.

Nope, I wasn't responsible for this, the pitcherlady throws down this meanest of southern deserts, I was merely the sous chef in this operation. And of course I am chief licker of all utensitls utilised in the magic of the process of creation, oh yes. I've had that job for over forty years.

Most Gross Thing You've Seen This Week:
THIS is from a place called naked aprons dot com and I'm sure it's quite popular at frat houses all over the country. thanks to TLC for the link.

Preserves

Sam and I met the Nubster at The Beacon Light Restaurant this past Sunday for a motorbike ride, and to check and see which fresh pereserves were on hand for the homemade killer endless basket of biscuits. Our choices the other day were peach and strawberry. Good stuff, but the cherry preserves are to absolutely die for.

Sorry for the suck picture, but that's what we're stuck with. Here Nubbie shows a couple of equine guys what some blood-red KTM Duke horsepower is all about. They didn't care.....

Rimps

The other day we had the red Morgan. Elite, somewhat sophisticated, sporty and stylish, a real looker.

Today we have this.

Something you can't help but look at, but you don't really want to. Kind of like an accident scene. Hell, I don't even know what to say.

Oh wait. Yeah I do.....Dig them rimps!

Practice

There was a practice/warm-up area for the World Round guys right next to the tent where we held the ITSA Vintage Bike Show. When they were out there, we were out there.

This log was over five-and-a-half feet tall. I could back up against it with my shoulder blades touching and it was even with the top of my head.

Now, I can say with all honestly that I have trouble with logs less than a foot tall, and I'm sure some smart-aleck will comment here and back that up for us. These WTC guys would ride up to the end, balance for a moment, and then slam right the hell up on top. Then they'd nonchalantly leap off either side or jump from the end onto the sister huge log. Amazing.

Da' Beaner

Deano, using four too many wheels in the bowl. If you think this is funky looking in a picture, you oughta' see/hear it in person. Especially the resounding THUD at the end sometimes. He's a wild man! Of course, as I have said before, he is quite exciting to watch.....never boring.

Cool Tip of the Week....
Man, to stay cool this summer I've just got to have one of THESE ! Screw a pit bike, they can't carry near enough cold libations. Thanks to TLC for the link.

More Morgan

Another Morgan glimpse before we move on. The owner/handler was off to the left enjoying a picnic as I walked around his ride and shot fifteen or so pics and looked it over quite closely. He was a bit nervous about the whole thing.....I never even took my helmet off.

Supermoto results from Road America this past week-end are HERE . Sounded like a couple of good races. Again, don't forget to make plans to join us for the Supermoto races in Nashvegas on October 14th.

Goofy!
The absolute goofiest thing you've read all week is right HERE .

Future Grind King

Noel's only been skating for like six months. He's a good kid and fun to hang with. In that half a year he has pretty much just went old school. He's learned to pump and kick and carve and to poke fun at all the right squirrels.

Today at Sunday Sunrise Services he decided that he was by god gonna' carve grind the bowl. He took shot after shot, disecting all the information that us old farts were more than glad to pass along, and after a while he was making a decent run at the coping. It'll only be a matter of time until he'll be showing me the proper line to bang and yelling at me to "Pump, pump you bitch!" Go Noel!

Morgan

Took the DRZ for a solo fang today, I couldn't find anybody else to come out and play. The weather was spot-on and the therapy provided by Dr. Z was good. Always is.

Out near Leipers Fork on the Trace I came upon this, sitting alone and demanding my attention. From a quarter mile or so away I thought it was an MG TD, but nope, it was a Morgan, what vintage I have no earthly idea. It looked to have been restored somewhat, but it did appear to be the real thing, as opposed to those atrocious kit cars that you see every once in a while. Very nice, and it looked like a bunch of fun. Kind of made the whole day seem worth it, if you know what I mean.....

4-Tricks

A few weeks ago at the World Trials round our tent where we set up the ITSA Vintage Trials Bike display was directly across from the pits of Honda and Scorpa. That was cool.

Scorpa had a few bikes available for demo rides, including a couple of SY125's, one of the new for 2006 (and gorgeous) SY250F four-strokes, and this weird little x-generation influenced piece of gear called the 4-Tricks. It's essentially a BMX bike with suspension, disc brakes, and a 70cc Yamaha four-stroke motor. A link to the specs page is HERE .

The Guru is pretty tight with the Scorpa crew so he wandered over and talked them out of the 4-Tricks for a while, so we all got to take a shot at it. Here we see the Trialsrooster aboard. I thought it was twitchy as hell and kind of spindly, but then again, I'm quite sure they had Gen-X'ers in mind as their target market.....a demographic that's three (or four!) decades younger and fifty pounds lighter than me. Alas.

Dude Shit

Allrighty then. The pitcherlady sent me an e-mail not too long ago titled "Dude Shit".

THIS was the link that she included in that missive. Dude Shit indeed!

Jeez, check out some of the numbers and some more the numbers in THAT article and do some of the math. Whoa! Jeez, I got lost just trying to blather up this blog post!
