Today's Victim

And so it begins, with a pair of hand laced Excels, stainless spokes, and some nasty Metzlers. More to come.....

All projects must start somewhere, and here is the start of my buddy Deano's early-thirties Buick Roadster. Fenders? Ha! We don't need no stinking fenders, man!

Funky Bert

The Funkmaster, going off in the deep-end of the Franklin kidney a couple Sunday's ago, ripping a slashing bert. Man, he's so laid back, he's laid out.....if you want to see true old school style, that'd be the Funkmaster, Team Geritol member.

Speaking of Funkmasters, R.I.P. James Brown, a.k.a. The Godfather of Soul.

murrayman

This is our buddy the murrayman during the ITSA Trials Series 2007 season opener a couple Sundays ago at the Ranch, cleaning a section down at the creek on his trusty Honda TL250.

From what I was able to gather from the folks riding in his group, he hadn't had much luck there on his first two loops. But, evidently he had gathered his information, processed it, and concentrated on it well enough during loop number three to ride for a clean, looking totally confident in what he was doing when I saw him.....Go Murray!

You know what sucks though? The camera lies. This picture looks like he's riding in somebody's freakin' back-yard. This hill is so steep that you almost can't walk up it, you have to start in a 10 inch deep mud-hole (Thanks Bob!), and it's like riding straight up your roof (in mud and rocks and leaves), and then making a hair-pin turn and dropping down to turn right over a log.......Ah well....

Some Christmas Gift Ideas

Here's a few Christmas gift ideas from skatetruck for you ladies out there with a deserving lesser half. Let me point out straight away that these all involve some sort of a sex slant, or are just plain sexist, depending on your perception. Look away now if you're so right-wing or prudish that you can't see the forest for the trees. These are in no particular order, only the order that they were accumulated in.....

First off we have the Pirelli Calendar . Now, my Italian isn't very good at all, but I can say Sophia Loren, over and over again. If you dig around over there you can find the English version but that takes some of the character away from it all.

Second is the leggy living room lamp from hell , a replica of the "Major Award" from one of my favorite holiday movies of all time "A Christmas Story". It's even shipped in a packing crate marked "fra-jilly".

Third is the new Ducati 1098 Superbike . Trust me, I am no Ducati whore, the last iteration of the 999 left me colder than a Boy George album. They do not make me swoon like a super-model. Especially when a stock Gixer 750 will hand a stock 1000cc Duck it's ass. But the new 1098 has many styling cues taken from the 916 model introduced in 1994 and it looks to be the business.....If it were a girl she would be a high-hipped red-head........and nasty.

Turning

Okay. This picture might give the impression that it's not a big deal, but really check out the amount of room that Mikey P. has to make that left turn. None. It would be like turning a motorbike one-hundred-and-eighty degrees in your kitchen.

He made it though. On a Triumph Cub.

Eat your heart out. I sure did........

Waiting

Me and the Nubster rode for a couple hours in the woods in Illinois a few Saturday's ago after the pretty awful Mid-West Series Trials season closer......whenever we walked a section to get a feel for it, our trusty steeds waited patiently for us.

The last 2 events of the ITSA Championship are this Saturday and Sunday.
